May 16th 2022 - The MOUSTADAMA Programme launched a new cycle of Calls for Applications aimed to promote a broad range of opportunities in the field of sustainable energy technologies and solutions. The Calls are targeting Palestinian industries, entrepreneurs, and startups, along with professionals already working in the energy sector or interested in becoming part of it. The different opportunities include a Training Program to become a certified energy expert, a package of bespoke interventions for Palestinian industries interested to reduce their energy costs, and a Competition and Acceleration Program for entrepreneurs and startups with innovative business ideas in the field of clean technologies.
The three Calls for Applications are developed and offered by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization – UNIDO within the activities of the MOUSTADAMA Programme, in partnership with the Ministry of National Economy (MoNE) and in Cooperation with Ministry of Entrepreneurship and Empowerment (MoEE) and the Palestinian Energy and Natural Resources Authority (PENRA) and funded by the European Union. The Applications will be reviewed by dedicated technical committees formed by UNIDO’s team members and experts along with members from MOUSTADAMA’s partner institutions, following announced clear eligibility and selection criteria to assure a rigorous and candid screening and selection processes.

CALL FOR APPLICATIONS for the ENERGY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (EnMS) Training – 2nd Cycle 2022

Last days to apply to the Call for Applications for the training in Energy Management System (ENMS). The training is targeting individuals, including energy efficiency professionals and consultants, energy managers/engineers from industrial enterprises, energy service providers and governmental employees that are interested in becoming EnMS practitioners/experts. Conducted in accordance with ISO 50001 standards, the training enhances the understanding, expertise and skills of the trainees and provides continuous expert advisory throughout its implementation.
Designed as an intensive learning Program, the EnMS Training is developed in hybrid modality: the theoretical lessons are delivered in classrooms/virtually, and on-site practices are organized within a network of partnering industrial facilities that are working with UNIDO to enhance their energy savings and reduce their energy cost. Candidates who succeed to pass the final exam will be certified as national energy management experts.
CALL FOR APPLICATIONS for the DEMONSTRATION PROJECTS ON SUSTAINABLE ENERGY – 2nd Cycle 2022

Last days to apply to the Call for Applications for the Demonstration Projects on Sustainable Energy. The 2nd Cycle of the Call for Applications for Demonstration Projects on Sustainable Energy is addressed to those Palestinian industrial enterprises that are interested to increase their energy resilience and reduce their energy consumptions by implementing clean energy solutions on their industrial facilities.
The selected enterprises from those applying to the Call for Applications will be able to receive several benefits, including a detailed energy audit conducted by certified experts provided by UNIDO, a renewable energy training, assistance in the design and procurement of the selected equipment and for the installation of solar energy systems.
CALL FOR APPLICATIONS for the PALESTINE CLEANTECH INNOVATION COMPETITION – 2ND EDITION 2022

The Palestine CleanTech Innovation Competition – 2nd Edition 2022 fosters strategic technological innovation through the support provided to innovative ideas, prototypes and products that offer feasible and viable solutions to solve the energy challenges of the industrial sector.
Entrepreneurs and teams with innovative projects in the field of clean energy solutions are invited to submit their proposed business ideas, which should fall into the Energy Efficiency (EE), Renewable Energy (RE), and Water-Energy Nexus (Efficiency) and aim to solve the energy challenges of the industrial sector. The competition is open to Palestinian Entrepreneurs based in Palestine and abroad. Based on the best eligible ideas, up to 30 candidates will be selected to participate to a 16-week Acceleration Program. At the end of the acceleration journey, the 3 best start-ups will be awarded up to 25,000 Euro each. Up to 3 national winners will be selected to participate in the GCIP annual Global Forum.
The Palestine Cleantech Innovation Competition is implemented by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) in partnership with the Ministry of National Economy (MoNE) and the Ministry of Entrepreneurship and Empowerment (MoEE) and funded by the European Union.
A series of awareness sessions have been organized through the INFORMATION WEEK in West Bank and Palestine in more than 10 Universities to introduce the potential applicants to the opportunities offered by the Competition.
An introductory webinar to cleantech, "Cleantech Solutions for Industry", will be conducted online on the 17th of May at 18:00 (Jerusalem time). Mr. Ahmed ElFarra, UNIDO Senior Programme Officer, and Mr. Gerswynn Mckuur, Global Coordinator of the UNIDO's GCIP Program, will discuss how climate action and energy transition are transforming cleantech into a remarkable catalyst for entrepreneurship. From May 14th to the 23th, 2022, five full-day hackathons will be organized in Jerusalem, Nablus, Ramallah, Hebron, Gaza Southern Strip, and Northern Gaza Strip within The CleanTech HACKATHONS WEEK. Participants will be able to work in a team, develop or enhance their project feasibility, and pitch it to a panel of experts. The hackathons will be conducted in both West Bank and Gaza with the following schedule:
- Beit Hanina/Jerusalem – May 14th, 2022.
- Abu-Dees/Al-Quds University – May 15th, 2022.
- Nablus – May 23rd, 2022
- Southern Gaza/Khan Younis – May 22nd, 2022
- Northern Gaza Strip/Gaza University – May 21st, 2022
