Renewable Energy Training: new solar energy experts are empowered

More than one hundred candidates – among whom 40% are women – have joined the new course launched by MOUSTADAMA on solar photovoltaic (PV) systems. Animated by UNIDO’s international and local experts, the Training Program has focused on the design, installation, testing and commissioning, operation, and maintenance of different PV applications running within industrial enterprises.

After a sixteen-day theoretical training, the apprentices have been welcomed by two training centers – the JEDCO's Training Center in Jericho, West Bank, and the UNRWA’s Training Center in Khan Younis, Gaza – for their hands-on training and coaching. Candidates have been instructed on PV system components – including the mounting structure, PV modules, solar inverters, and other accessories – and introduced to the tools required for solar installation projects as well as those for the testing and commissioning.

Trainees who successfully completed the certification requirements will receive a UNIDO certification. Together with the 18 UNIDO certified experts on energy management systems, who officially graduated on September 20th, 2022 in the course of a special ceremony at the presence of H.E. the Minister of National Economy Mr. Khaled Osaily and Mr. Ahmed ElFarra, UNIDO’s Senior Programme Officer, these new certified experts will contribute to reinforce the cadre of national professionals specialized in sustainable energy technologies and solutions for industry to further boost and animate the market.
